He began piano lessons at age 7, sang in elementary school chorus, grades 3rd through 5th, learned the basics of drums at age 11 and started writing his own lyrics and rapping over hip hop instrumentals, when he was 14. At age 18 he taught himself to make instrumental beats on keyboards and began recording his own songs. Nuttiago has been an active musician, producer, song writer, studio engineer, promoter and graphic artist ever since. He is also 1 half of the group Se7en17, with longtime collaborator Demonceie “Da Monsta” and is owner of Knockinationz Music. All promotions and graphics associated with Knockinationz projects, are done by Nuttiago. . Nuttiago has a son named Santiago, V and a daughter named Brianna. Nuttiago's father, Santiago Gonzalez III, was born in Tampa, Florida. Born of Afro-Cubano decent, son of an immigrant cigar maker, he attended Xavier University and graduated with a degree in Music. He eventually became a Salsa and merengue percussionist, song writer, actor, screenwriter and self-motivational book-writer. Santiago III starred in the 1976 made for T.V. movie, "I'm A Fool" starring the then up and coming film phenom, Ron Howard. Howard is best known as Opie Taylor on "The Andy Griffith Show" and Richie Cunningham on "Happy Days" and for directing the mega hit films Splash, Backdraft, Apollo 13, EDtv, A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code, Frost/Nixon and many, many others. Santiago III guest appeared on the hit t.v. shows "Good Times" and "The Jeffersons". He starred in many broadway musicals and was an active member in several calypso bands, in Las Vegas, San Francisco and formed the calypso band "The Senators". But when Nuttiago was only 4 months old, Santiago III passed away, leaving the legacy in his hands. His uncle Kary K. Taylor Jr., is also a Afro-Cubano percusionist. His work is best heard on the Vancouver, B.C. based salsa band, Rumba Calzada's album "Generations". Nuttiago is a natural in the studio and on stage and has shared the stage with numerous hip hop acts over the past decade, including: Luniz, Destro and Slowe Burna, Souls Of Mischief, Andre Nickatina, Mobfigaz, Dru Down, San Quinn, Mister F.A.B., Dope Game, One Drop Scott, Hittaz On The Payroll, Assassin, The Gamblaz, Goodfelonz, Se7en17, The 925az, No Mercy Records, Big R.O.B., Get Low Records, Isaac The Blackmale, Bay Area Natives Presents, SBC D.J.'s, E Money Presents, Bottom Of The Basement Presents and many more. Education: Nuttiago records regularly in long-time collaborator, Demonceie's studio. He has studied Recording Arts and Computer Science at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, Ca, Music Publishing at SF State CEL program and began his recording arts education in 2002 at Los Medanos College, Pittsburg, CA, where he learned engineering techniques and the core understanding of Pro Tools.
