Tom the Hero was the 45th overall episode of The Jeffersons TV series, also the eighth episode of Season 3. Directed by Jack Shea and written by Kurt Taylor and Booker Bradshaw, the episode made its premiere on CBS-TV on November 17, 1976.
Tom's quick thinking saves George's life, but George's gratitude soon sours when he realizes that now he is in Tom's debt.
While having a drink in Charlie's bar, George chokes on some popcorn. Tom leaves a neighboring table to perform the Heimlich maneuver and save George's life. But George isn't as grateful as he should be, as he quickly finds a way to end the debt to Tom.
