Movin' on Down was the 21st overall episode of The Jeffersons TV series, also the eighth episode of Season 2. Directed by Jack Shea and written by Ken Levine and David Isaacs, it made its premiere on CBS-TV on November 1, 1975.
George fears that some financial setbacks will put him out of business. Adding to his stresses are Lionels begging for more money and Florence pressuring him for a raise.
In this particular episode, George feels that his fortunes are taking a turn for the worse when his business is making less profit and his banker won't return his calls. George comes home one day, feeling depressed. He tells Louise that his cleaning business is making a lesser profit, putting his plans to open another store on hold. In addition, George is having a difficult time getting the banker on the phone or return his calls regarding a loan for the new store, thinking that he is being written off as a bad investment due to his profit loss. As a result, George suspects that his fortunes are going south and that he and Louise are "Movin' on Down."
