Me and Billy Dee was the 94th overall episode of The Jeffersons TV series, also the seventh episode of Season 5. Directed by Jack Shea and written by Bryan Joseph, Jay Moriarty and Mike Milligan, the episode made its premiere on CBS-TV on November 4, 1978.
At the last minute, George's speaker at a benefit cancels which leaves him scrambling to find a celebrity to speak. He sets out to rope Billy Dee Williams into speaking, even considering getting a celebrity look-alike. However, George passes himself off as Alex Haley, and Billy Dee agrees to speak. Meanwhile, an excited Florence is let down when she mistakes Billy Dee, her idol, for an impersonator.
Louise wants a celebrity to talk to the kids at the Help Center, so George suggests Billy Dee Williams, who is in town making a movie. He calls him up, pretending to be author Alex Haley, and asks Ralph to find a lookalike in case he can't get the real thing. Florence is excited at first, but when Ralph returns with the name of a celebrity lookalike agency, she assumes that the man coming to the apartment is an impersonator.
