Mama's boy must cut the apron strings: After Louise asks George to attend a funeral with her, he refuses to cancel his monthly lunch with his mother. The solution gets worse: Mother Jefferson joins them at the funeral.
Mother Jefferson expects George to take her to their monthly lunch date much to the chagrin of Louise because she wants George to accompany her to a family friend's funeral on the same day. Louise realizes that Mother Jefferson has a too strong hold on her son when he refuses to cancel the lunch date and go with her to the funeral. Ultimately, Mother Jefferson agrees to go to the funeral with George and Louise, but when George puts his foot down on Mother Jefferson's demanding ways, she makes a scene.
