George and Jimmy was the 81st overall episode of The Jeffersons TV series, also the 20th episode of Season 4. Directed by Jack Shea and written as a teleplay by Richard Freeman, the episode made its premiere on CBS-TV on February 4, 1978.
As a publicity gimmick for his store, George tries to get President Carter to stay with him. After a phone call to the White House degenerates into an argument, George's comments are interpreted by the Secret Service as a threat to the President.
After learning that President Jimmy Carter stays at the homes of "ordinary people" while on trips, George intends to invite him to stay at the Jefferson's abode. However, Secret Service agents show up at the Jefferson's door after George makes a phone call to the White House that sounds like a threat to the President.
